Van Kruijsbergen is tricky to pronounce. When Finley Van Kruijsbergen started her new practice, Van Huis Architecture, she wanted a name that represented the type of architecture she was passionate about and was also conducive to raising a young family. The translation of ‘Van Huis’ from Dutch to English is ‘From Home,’ which is entirely appropriate for a young mother trying to begin a business amidst the spontaneous nature of raising a family.

The experience Finley brings to the new practice comes from over 15 years of working within the industry, from small residential practices to larger commercial and retail firms. Through this variety of learned experiences, a passion grew for client-focused residential design.

By working through different scales of projects within different practices, Finley has had hands-on experience in seeing initial designs come to fruition. Practical designs with exceptional attention to detail and practical construction knowledge are what drive Van Huis Architecture.
